Good to see you all coming around and enjoying Cam's work. What I'm seeing on the comments is terrific. Thanks for all the positive comments.
I haven't heard from Cam in a while and have tried to get in touch with him a few weeks back with no results yet. The last time I got an email from him was at the beginning of April and he was really struggling to keep equilibrium. He was up for about three hours a day of light activity and otherwise half asleep in front of the TV or asleep altogether. He seemed to imply that he was stable but low.
He hasn't really been doing anything else isofar as the blog here goes. It's understandably fallen off the radar for him a bit as he has fought with his chemo. The work you're seeing was posted well in advance and is automatically uploading each week. This can continue for the next six months or so without his involvement if need be.
I'm hoping that he sees the post here and gets irritated enough to correct me and that he's getting better but just has had a lot on his plate to deal with.
I will take the liberty to tell you that he has many friends that he hangs out with at the coffeeshop every day. He is well loved in his personal community and is independent enough to convalesce without any need for worrying about work, at least for a while.
I have no direct contact with him and only know what he tells me directly by email. I'll let you know when I find out anything more. It's possible I can get hold of his phone number and call him, but I'm loathe to disturb him as I'm sure you understand.
Do drop him an email or leave a comment here to buck him up. I'm sure he could use the encouragement.

Thanks for the update, i'm sure that like myself many of Cam's fans have been wondering how his recovery is progressing. I know i'm not alone in wishing him all the very best.

I kinda figured that the weekly additions were going up automatically because there has been no other postings and in the past Cam has always added a little here and there. If you should happen to communicate with him, please let him know that his work continues to be appreciated and that I am hoping for the best for him. Thank you.

Dear Cam,
ReplyDeletesuffering myself from one "brand" of this desease I can tell you that you can survive it at least for 7 years now. Lost 1 feet of colon, 63% of liver, got 4 treatments of chemo and 2 of antibody treatment along with a nuclear line accelerator lungbombardement, and I hang around at cafeterias in good if not best company, can still drive my car and care for myself.
Good luck. And remember always: We just have to stay alive until these suckers find some cure. and take a prayer sometimes. It helps. God forgives girlfights.
