Some cg background work
I found these partially finished pieces with characters painted over a cg background. Marrying the two techniques, painting and cg, is effective as hell, I think. I really like these.
I spent months building that ring and room in a 3D program. My plan was to use it for a whole series of stories. I never got to where I felt the background matched the art. I ran the backgrounds through a dozen different Pshop filters, but nothing gave me the effect I wanted.

Not the biggest fan of 3D artwork, but this blend looks like it has potential.
