Cameroon Wildebeest has passed on.

I read Cam's obituary tonight. He passed away in Sept. from cancer. In his professional life he was a person of wide, and truly remarkable accomplishments and was well known in his community.

He is survived by a family and an army of friends and admirers, including you folks. In his life he loved and was loved. He will be missed.

  10. I've been looking at this page on and off for months. It feels strange to have gotten to know a bit about the man and his struggle in this detached way, but I hope he'd be happy to know that we've enjoyed his talent and continue to do so.

  12. I too have enjoyed Cameroon's art for a while now. His honesty in this blog about the appeal of "fighting women" made me, and I'm sure others, feel a sense of companionship - as though, even if it was virtually, we are not alone in that. I'm sorry to learn that he suffered so much and in the end died from cancer. From the posts I thought he had it beat.

  21. I always had hope that wildebeest would pull through... I've lost friends and family to cancer and i know how hard it must feel to his personal friends and family. i stayed toned into this blog every sunday night and monday morning to read the comic strip that he so talented crafted and shared with us. and each week i had hope to hear wildebeest is home and resting on the road to recovery. wildebeest is was and will forever be remember by fans as a talented artist who fought hard.

  27. Such a magnificently creative heart and mind the 'Beest' possessed!. It's sad to know his artistic vision has been veiled, for we are all lessened by the extinguishing of his light. Condolences to his family and friends.
