Do you ever finish anything?

Rarely.

And that's why the stuff you've seen of mine to this point (assuming you've seen any of it) seems like such a hodgepodge of clippings from larger work. It is a hodgepodge of clippings from larger work. My tendency is to get completely caught up in a sequential narrative, let it get so huge that it's out of control, then walk away from it when I get bored.

I've got things here that I've fiddled with for ten years or more.

If you're into catfight art at all, you've probably noticed most of it is only four pages long. I think that's probably because back in the day, it was always printed two-up on both sides of 11 x 17" paper. With electronic distribution, it can be as lengthy as you want it to be (assuming you have the focus and self-discipline to finish it).

The solution to this, I think, is to do more one-offs, and to plan stories more carefully so they don't end up being the size of Atlas Shrugged (and yet, infinitely more entertaining).

  2. In hunting through your earlier work, one thing I loved was the feeling of narrative they had, especially the Jungle Janna/Sheila match. Did that one ever reach a conclusion?

And if you need help with story planning, let me know. Been helping out at http://www.darrksyde.com/Home.aspx with proofing and story layout for awhile now, be a pleasure to help you.

  3. Wouldn't putting in place a 24 panel limit help you to finish projects?
