Low angle pose

Drawing the human figure from a low angle like this is a challenge. Foreshortening and perspective are two of the hardest things to learn in figure drawing. Gene Bilbrew, most famously in our context, could never get it right.

But this turned out really nice. Wouldn't you like to climb up her, hand over hand?

I suspect some photographic reference was used. Even then, the artist took liberties. Her neck is insanely long, and placed at kind of an odd angle to get the maximum impact from the face.

The placement of the lighting grid in the ceiling is also well-handled, with the one bright light behind her head.

This is from some manga I found somewhere, obviously. I don't know who drew it or when.

Anyone know what she is saying? Never mind. Let me just imagine.
