Whatever happened to that? They did two different editions for two different platforms, and no more.
Were there not enough of us to keep it going?
I got rid of my gaming stuff a few years ago because I wasn't using it. Then I looked through some Rumble Roses XX videos on YouTube for my info about the brass knuckles, and realized I kind of miss this game.
I dont think it sold well enough. Wrestling games are a niche market in itself and a all-female wrestling game is probably a niche within a niche.
ReplyDeleteAfter I posted this, I decided to order both of them via Amazon. I don't even have consoles, anymore, but maybe I'll get them later.
ReplyDeleteSomething weird that I've noticed is that if you look up boxing video games, you find plenty of cartoony, over-the-top titles with outrageous characters alongside the Serious Business ultra-realistic ones (Facebreakers, Black & Bruised, the Ready 2 series, and even Punch Out). But when you look at wrestling games, it is dominated exclusively by the WWE, with the Rumble Roses games being the only serious alternatives in the last decade. And yet pro wrestling was born for cartoony, over-the-top action with outrageous characters (especially since the WWE in recent years has been trying to get people to take it seriously). The juxtaposition baffles me.
ReplyDeleteReady to rumble was going to do a wrestling game, but nothing become of it.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad rumble roses didnt make it. I thought they were god games. Alot more fun then you would have thought to play with pals. Yea, and you can get a ps2 cheap at gamestop.
