I didn't give a lot of thought to the name "Cameroon Wildebeest, Jr." before I adopted it. I was posting something on Usenet back in 19-whatever, and I just used the first two words that popped into my head. If I had known I would still be using it fifteen years later, I would have given it more thought.
In any event, if you're familiar with my nom de plume at all, it's probably in connection with my female fighting art that's been posted around the Internet over the past ten years or so.
I kept an alias for that work because I also had a busy career as a 'mainstream' commercial artist, and I didn't want my day job impacted by my obsession/fetish/hobby.
Now I'm at a stage in my life where I don't have to be quite so secretive. That doesn't mean I'm going to post my 'real' identity here, but I am going to allow my profile to be somewhat higher.
More to come...
The art: from September, 1996, when I still knew how to get a pen and ink look in Painter. Apparently, I've forgotten how since then, because I can't get a satisfactory look now. The two women illustrated were the interfering 'managers' for two fighters who are off-screen in this panel.
Where can one find the rest of this story?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure. I haven't run across it in his archives yet. I'll keep an eye peeled though.
